Series Motors manufactured in frame size 112
& 132 enables packing a greater deal of
active raw material into a given frame size.
Motors are offered in Screen Protected Enclosure
and also with or without force cooling arrangements.

FIELD
SYSTEM
- Frame
is built with steel laminations ensuring optimum
commutating ability under severe load conditions;
is octagonal in construction accommodating about
20% more active raw material in the same space as
a round frame of equivalent shaft and height, is
rigid and stable due to combination of tie rods
and welding under a 50kg/sq cms. pressure.
- The
feet are integral with the end covers so that by
the rotation of the magnet frame, the terminal box
can be shifted by 90 to any position as the application
demands.
- The
pole bricks are bolted with high tensile bolts to
the frame and are located in slots, main pole shoes
are specially shaped to minimize flux distortion
resulting from armature reaction. Field coils are
vacuum impregnated and baked and are mounted on
the poles and securely anchored, to be resistant
to shock and vibrations.
ARMATURE
:
- Armature
and overhangs are resiglass banded and dynamically
balanced to limit vibration complying with BS5000:PART99:1973;
armature conductors are soldered to commutator risers
using a special tin silver solder.
- Wedges
are used up to 132 frames.
COMMUTATORS :
Commutators are of arch bound construction,
built of high conductivity hard drawn silver-bearing
copper segments, designed to maintain low temperature
during operation and minimize distortion.
